It’s Okay!

I know every writer, every person out there has experienced it.

You see, I’m having a bit of a pity party, but it’s going to have a happy ending even if it kills me. I’ve been in a real slump the past few months. I’ve been tired and sad, and mentally exhausted from my soul-sucking day job. And I’ve given myself every excuse not to write.

IMG_20140807_091353But it’s all on me. I know that. I let stuff to get to me, stuff that really doesn’t matter. I let a bunch of shit affect my writing… or not writing to be more accurate. And now, I’m saying, fuck that. If flowers can grow from shit, if a good pile of fertilizer can make them bloom beautifully, then so can I.

And if what I write sucks, if it’s shit, well, it’s okay–at least, to a degree. I’m doing this for me. And that’s all that matters. Wish me luck!

  1. OK – good luck!! Please keep writing! From the bits I’ve read so far, I’m really eager to learn more about these strange people and what has happened and will happen to them. And have a happy New Year!! Love, Ken

  2. Sara – thank you so much for visiting my blog because I now have found your books. I think I need to curl up on the couch later today and have a good read. Don’t be discouraged. I like you have writers block and am often consumed by my day job. That is why I started pushing out of my comfort zone to walk the shores of the Green and Duwamish Rivers. I never expected to meet so many nice people (crows, robins, eagles, humans old, young, rich, poor and homeless). Perhaps your fortitude on writing will inspire me to get with my book that has floundered for years. Talk later. Robin

    • Thank you for the encouragement. I started following your site because of the reference to crows and ravens, and what did I find but a photo tribute to my area, a way to see it through someone else’s eyes. Keep up the good work.
